So Carli has this new friend......Emily. I can't tell you a lot about her, because, I haven't actually met her. I think maybe, only Carli has. So here is what I know about Emily. She is 6 years old and has a twin sister, Katelyn. Although I've known about Emily for a few months now, I have only known about Katelyn for the past few weeks. Carli talks about her friend Emily all the time. Emily is coming over to go swimming, Emily likes this, Emily likes that. She keeps it pretty vague though. She talks about her in the car a lot, you know, when she has time to just be thinking about stuff......like Emily. And I'll ask her nonchalantly, "Is Emily in the car with us?" And Carli just looks at me like I'm silly and says no. Ashlee thinks it's all very funny. The other day when Carli started rambling on about Emily, Ashlee looked at me, made a "crazy" sign with her hand, and mouthed "imaginary". Seriously, Ashlee is so funny. She's getting at that age where she likes to think she's "in on something" since Carli still doesn't get so much! Now that Ash is going to Kindergarten, I won't be able to spell quite so much around her, she already asks me every time, what did you spell mom? But that's another post....back to Emily.
So now our entire family has been introduced to Miss Emily, told about her 8 brothers and sisters, her 6 year old sister Katelyn, how Emily loves to swim, and most of all, how Emily is coming over "later". At first I was a bit wigged out about the whole "Emily" thing and tought I should make it very clear to Carli that "Emily" simply doesn't exist. But, everyone has told me to let her little imagination play this Emily thing out. That it's healthy for her. So, while I don't encourage it, I do think it's adorable that she has developed this little friend. Maybe it's to compensate for her big sister going to Kindergarten. She DOES NOT like to be without her big sister, perhaps that's what Emily has joined us for....to keep Carli company while Ashlee is in school. Emily must be homeschooled....or something!
