Never a dull moment. Never. Sunday and Monday night my girls turned into holy terrors. The weather is so nice right now they play really hard during the day and then they are EXHAUSTED by bedtime. So Sunday night Carli was throwing a hissy fit at bedtime and being really naughty. Then, last night Ashlee decided she needed to give Chucky a run for her money and threw the biggest fit I've ever seen my little princess throw. She was almost throwing up she was crying so hard. So what's my response, "If you throw up you're sleeping in it. I'm not changing your sheets." Does that make me a bad mom? I don't think so, because she was just pushing me to see how much she could get away with. Good thing she didn't make herself up-chuck, because there's no way I could let her sleep in puke.
So tonight I decide my girls needed to go to bed 30 minutes earlier so they aren't cranky for gymnastics tomorrow night. So I am in picking out shirts for the girls like I do every night, so my head is in the closet. Chris tells Carli to lay down it's time for bed. She walks across her bed and says, in a very serious Carli voice, "I am so ticked off right now." I didn't see it coming, so I couldn't help but react. I did what every parent regrets later. I laughed before I could stop myself. Chris did too. Both of us turned immediately away from Carli. Too late. Ashlee started laughing and then Carli chuckled. So I had to give her my very stern mommy talk that that was not nice to say, etc and if she says it again she will get a spanking. But I broke the golden rule and laughed, big mistake. Hope it doesn't come back to bite me, I will be so ticked off!
