We just got home from Pennsylvania where we visited Chris's family (grandparents, uncles, cousins). So, the girls got to go on their first airplane ride! Well, Ashlee flew when she was 1 1/2 (to Pennsylvania), but she doesn't remember, so we acted like this was their first big flight!
The night before we left we realized we didn't have a battery for our DVD player, slight panic, repacking of extra coloring books and toys, and hoping for the best we headed out for our 4+ hour flight.
Here are the girls and Chris waiting for the plane after a pilot walked by and gave them their "wings". They felt very cool!
And of course Ashlee and Carli on the plane...their favorite part was buckling up the seatbelt. And Ashlee liked to watch for the light to come on and off telling them when they could take them on and off.
No one serves meals anymore, and of course our flight left at 10am, so we would be flying right at lunch time. Thrifty mom packed gourmet peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! Yummy in my tummy as Carli would say. No, she didn't wear the "whole" sandwich on her face, she did get a little bit in her mouth.
And we are patiently awaiting our plane ride home after 10 days away! Take 2 with no DVD player...Kim takes a deep breath and hopes for the best. And against all odds, Carli actually fell asleep for an hour while Ashlee and I colored. There is a god!
More details, and pictures, to come of our trip to Pennsylvania. I know, you're excited!!!!
